FDA Peptide Update 2026: What the Advisory Committee Recommendations Mean for Patients

FDA Peptide Advisory Committee Update: What the Recent Votes Mean for Patients

If you've been following the conversation around peptides, you've probably noticed a lot of headlines recently. Here's what actually happened—and what it means moving forward.

Over the past two days, the FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee (PCAC) reviewed several peptide substances to determine whether they should be recommended for inclusion on the Section 503A Bulks List. This list helps determine which substances may be eligible for compounding by licensed 503A pharmacies when prescribed for individual patients.

What Did the Committee Recommend?

The committee voted to recommend adding several peptides to the 503A Bulks List, including:

  • BPC-157

  • KPV

  • TB-500

  • MOTS-C

These recommendations came despite FDA staff having previously expressed concerns about the available scientific evidence for these compounds.

The committee also reviewed Emideltide (DSIP) and voted not to recommend its inclusion, demonstrating that each peptide was evaluated individually based on the available evidence rather than receiving blanket approval or rejection.

Additional recommendations for other peptides, including Semax and Epitalon, are still being finalized.

What Does This Mean?

One of the most important things to understand is that these committee votes are not FDA approval.

The Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee serves as an independent advisory body. Its recommendations provide guidance to the FDA, but the FDA makes the final regulatory decisions.

No peptides become immediately available simply because the committee voted in favor of recommending them.

What Happens Next?

The FDA will now review:

  • The committee's recommendations

  • The scientific evidence presented

  • Public comments

  • Meeting transcripts and supporting materials

From there, the FDA will determine the appropriate regulatory path forward.

That process could include:

  • Additional FDA review

  • Proposed rulemaking

  • Public comment periods

  • Final regulatory decisions regarding the 503A Bulks List

As with many FDA regulatory matters, this process can take time.

Why This Meeting Matters

Even though these votes are advisory, they represent an important milestone.

The committee demonstrated a willingness to carefully evaluate each peptide individually, balancing scientific evidence, physician oversight, patient access, and public safety. Many discussions throughout the meeting also focused on reducing reliance on unregulated "research chemical" markets by encouraging safe, physician-supervised care through licensed medical providers and regulated compounding pharmacies.

Our Commitment at Gameday Men's Health Solon

At Gameday Men's Health Solon, patient safety always comes first.

We closely follow FDA guidance, state regulations, and evolving clinical evidence to ensure every treatment we offer is provided responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws.

If future regulatory changes make additional peptide therapies legally available through licensed compounding pharmacies, our team will carefully evaluate those options using the same evidence-based, patient-centered approach we apply to all of our medical services.

Until then, we'll continue educating our patients and community with accurate, up-to-date information as these important regulatory developments unfold.

As always, if you have questions about hormone optimization, recovery, wellness, or emerging therapies, our providers are happy to discuss the current science and available treatment options during your consultation.

Your Health Goals Are Personal—And Every Step Forward Matters

When it comes to your health, there is no universal finish line.

For one person, success might mean having the energy to play with their kids after work.

For another, it's getting back to the gym consistently.

Someone else may simply want to sleep through the night, lose weight they've struggled with for years, or feel mentally sharp again.

Every journey is different.

And every goal is worth pursuing.

Health Isn't About Being Perfect

One of the biggest misconceptions about improving your health is that you have to change everything overnight.

The reality?

Small, consistent improvements often lead to the biggest long-term results.

Choosing to understand your health.

Scheduling that first consultation.

Getting lab work completed.

Improving your sleep.

Taking a daily walk.

Making one healthier meal choice.

These may seem like small decisions, but over time they add up to meaningful change.

Progress doesn't happen because of one perfect day—it happens because of hundreds of intentional choices.

What Does Feeling Better Mean to You?

Everyone has a different reason for wanting to improve their health.

Maybe you're looking for:

  • More energy throughout the day
  • Better sleep and improved recovery
  • Increased strength and endurance
  • Weight loss that actually lasts
  • Better focus at work
  • More confidence
  • Improved hormone health
  • Feeling like yourself again

None of these goals are "better" than another.

They're personal.

And that's exactly how healthcare should be.

Understanding What's Happening Beneath the Surface

Sometimes we assume feeling tired, gaining weight, losing motivation, or struggling with recovery is simply part of getting older.

But those symptoms can have many different causes.

Understanding what's happening beneath the surface through comprehensive evaluation and laboratory testing allows you to make informed decisions about your health.

Knowledge creates opportunity.

The more you understand your body, the better equipped you are to reach your goals.

Personalized Care for Your Goals

At Gameday Men's Health Solon, we know there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to men's health.

Some patients come to us because they suspect they have low testosterone.

Others are focused on medically supervised weight loss, improving body composition, or simply learning more about their overall health.

Our job isn't to push a specific treatment.

Our job is to listen, evaluate, educate, and build a personalized plan based on your individual goals and medical needs.

Because your health journey should be built around you.

What's at the Top of Your List?

If you could improve one thing about your health over the next year, what would it be?

  • More energy?
  • Better sleep?
  • Weight loss?
  • Increased strength?
  • Better confidence?
  • Improved performance?
  • Feeling healthier overall?

Your answer may inspire someone else to take that very first step.

Sometimes all it takes is knowing you're not the only one working toward a healthier future.

We're Here When You're Ready

Whether you're just beginning your health journey or looking for answers after years of frustration, our team is here to help.

Conan O'Brien Called It "Male Menopause." Here's Why Millions of Men Are Suddenly Talking About Testosterone.

If you've been on social media lately, you've probably seen the headlines.

Conan O'Brien, 63, recently joked that he wasn't necessarily becoming wiser with age—maybe his testosterone was just declining. The conversation quickly went viral, sparking thousands of comments from men who said, "Wait... is that actually a real thing?"

It turns out, the topic is much bigger than a celebrity interview.

In the same week, researchers presented new findings suggesting that average testosterone levels in men may have declined dramatically over the past several decades, reigniting conversations around men's health, energy, fertility, and overall wellness. While researchers continue to debate the causes and interpretation of these findings, the conversation itself highlights something many healthcare providers have been seeing for years: more men are asking questions about their hormones and how they feel.

And honestly...

It's about time.

Same Age. Two Very Different Guys.

Walk through any neighborhood.

You'll probably see two men who are the exact same age.

One is chasing his kids around the yard, golfing on Saturday morning, hitting the gym after work, and still has enough energy left for date night.

The other...

Gets tired halfway through mowing the lawn.

Falls asleep on the couch before the movie starts.

Needs three cups of coffee just to survive the afternoon.

Hasn't seen progress in the gym in years.

Wonders why he just doesn't feel like himself anymore.

The difference isn't always motivation.

It isn't always discipline.

And it certainly isn't because one man simply "tries harder."

Sometimes, it's what's happening beneath the surface.

"I'm Just Getting Older..."

It's probably the most common phrase we hear.

"I'm getting older."

"I'm just busy."

"That's life."

Sure...

Getting older does change your body.

But feeling exhausted every day, losing motivation, struggling with weight gain despite exercising, having brain fog, poor recovery, declining libido, or erectile dysfunction aren't things you should automatically ignore.

Those symptoms deserve a conversation.

Not because testosterone is always the answer.

But because there may actually be an answer.

Why Testosterone Has Become Such a Hot Topic

For years, testosterone was mostly discussed by athletes or bodybuilders.

Today?

It's becoming part of mainstream conversation.

Why?

Because men are beginning to realize that hormones influence far more than muscle mass.

Healthy testosterone levels play a role in:

  • Energy
  • Mood
  • Focus
  • Motivation
  • Muscle maintenance
  • Bone health
  • Recovery
  • Libido
  • Erectile function
  • Overall quality of life

That's why celebrities, physicians, researchers, podcasters, and millions of men are talking about it.

Not because testosterone is some miracle hormone...

But because feeling healthy matters.

The Problem Isn't Low Testosterone...

The problem is assuming.

Many men immediately decide:

"I have Low T."

Others convince themselves:

"I'm fine. It's just age."

Both assumptions can be wrong.

At Gameday Men's Health Solon, we don't diagnose someone based on a Facebook meme or a celebrity podcast.

We start with something much simpler.

We listen.

We perform appropriate lab testing.

We review symptoms.

Then we determine whether testosterone—or something entirely different—is contributing to how you're feeling.

Sometimes it is.

Sometimes it isn't.

Good medicine means finding the cause—not guessing.

You Deserve More Than an 18-Minute Appointment

The average annual primary care visit is surprisingly short.

That's often not enough time to discuss:

  • Energy
  • Sleep
  • Sexual health
  • Recovery
  • Weight changes
  • Exercise performance
  • Hormone concerns
  • Long-term health goals

That's why we built our clinic differently.

We believe men deserve time to ask questions.

To understand their lab results.

To know why they feel the way they do.

And to have a treatment plan that's built around them—not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Which Guy Are You Becoming?

This isn't about becoming twenty-five again.

It's about becoming the healthiest version of yourself at forty, fifty, sixty, or beyond.

The dad who still coaches.

The husband who still has energy at the end of the day.

The grandfather who can keep up with the grandkids.

The professional who's still mentally sharp.

The man who doesn't accept "good enough."

Those are goals worth pursuing.

Your Next Step

If you've noticed changes in your energy, motivation, recovery, strength, libido, or confidence, don't ignore them.

And don't self-diagnose either.

Start with a conversation.

Because the difference between two men the same age often isn't luck...

It's understanding what's happening beneath the surface.

World Cup Energy vs. Couch Energy: Which Team Are You On?

World Cup Energy vs. Couch Energy: Which Team Are You On?

The FIFA World Cup has been giving us everything this summer—last-minute goals, incredible saves, and players who somehow sprint for 90+ minutes and still look ready for overtime.

Meanwhile...

Some of us need a halftime break just from mowing the lawn. πŸ˜…

If you've ever watched a match and thought, "I used to have that kind of energy," you're not alone.

Is It Really Just Getting Older?

Many men assume that feeling tired, less motivated, or not performing the way they used to is simply part of aging.

Sometimes it is.

But sometimes... it's not.

Low testosterone can contribute to symptoms like:

  • Low energy
  • Reduced motivation
  • Difficulty building or maintaining muscle
  • Weight gain
  • Brain fog
  • Lower libido
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Slower recovery after exercise

It doesn't happen overnight, which is why many men don't notice the gradual change until they're looking back wondering where their "old self" went.

⚽ You Don't Need World Cup Stamina...

...but you probably shouldn't need a recovery day after carrying groceries into the house.

Our goal isn't to turn you into a professional athlete.

It's to help you feel like you again.

Maybe that means having enough energy to coach your kid's soccer team.

Maybe it's finally making it through an entire weekend without feeling exhausted.

Or maybe it's simply being ready for date night without wanting to fall asleep by 8:30.

Those are wins worth celebrating.

Here's a Stat Most Men Don't Know

Nearly 1 in 2 men will experience erectile dysfunction at some point in their lives.

The surprising part?

Almost everyone talks about the World Cup.

Almost no one talks about ED.

At Gameday Men's Health Solon, we have those conversations every day in a private, judgment-free setting. We focus on identifying the cause—not just treating the symptom.

We Keep It Simple.

Whether you're curious about testosterone optimization, erectile dysfunction, weight loss, or simply why you haven't felt like yourself lately, we're here to answer your questions.

No pressure.

No awkward conversations.

Just experienced medical providers helping men take control of their health.
